Week summary

Another training week that ends. A lot of Endurance, Tempo and Sweetspot work, with the aim of regaining form.

My concern in these first two training weeks after the stop was to regain some of the form I had lost. For this, it was important to invest heavily in Sweetspot and Tempo workouts on the TT, and continue to accumulate hours on the road.

Comparing with last week, the sensations were so much better. Indoor workouts were not as hardest, the legs responded better, I could more easily keep the power at the target intervals and the heart rate remained more controlled.

I was able to accumulate 7 hours of training on the road, in 185 km and more than 3500m of elevation gain. And it was here that I felt a lot better, especially on Saturday, a training session that included a lot of mountain, including a climb to São Macário, a 9 km climb with 9% of average grade.

They are, undoubtedly, sensations that make me more excited and motivated for the next weeks of training that lie ahead.

Next week I enter the Build phase, which is composed of eight weeks, distributed by two mesocycles of four weeks, three of load and one of recovery, as usual. In this phase we increase the weekly training load in terms of intensity, in order to improve our capacities, boosting them according to the objectives that we will face. But on this subject we will speak right in the next article that I am preparing.
